Willie Mason Jr. has been appointed the new chief of Selma Fire and Rescue.Â
Mason has previously served as assistant fire marshal at the department before his recent appointment as chief. He has been involved in fire service for more than 19 years.
In addition to his fire service education he has degrees from several colleges, including Wallace Community College Selma and served as a part-time law enforcement officer there.Â
Mason is a resident of Selma. According to his bio on Linkedin he seeks to continue fire service, as well as be a business owner and work law enforcement part-time. Â
