A new Chief of Police was appointed at the Montgomery Regional Airport (MRA).
A statement from the MRA said that Marquez James has more than 24 years of experience in law enforcement. He is a Montgomery native whose background includes working with the FBI, TSA, DHS, FAA, and the United States Secret Service.
“Chief James brings a wealth of experience, professionalism, and a deep commitment to public service,” said Loyd L. Jenkins III, Executive Director of Montgomery Regional Airport. “His leadership will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and welcoming environment that our passengers, tenants, and community expect from MGM Airport.”
The statement reports that among his priorities are strengthening safety and security operations, "enhancing" emergency preparedness and building partnerships with airport stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.
“The opportunity to serve at MGM Airport was appealing because it combines aviation security, customer service, and community partnership in a way that directly impacts the region’s growth and safety,” said James. “I’m excited to work alongside a dedicated team that serves as one of the major gateways into our city and to help contribute to the airport’s continued growth, innovation, and excellence.”
