Selma Police Officer Marquis Moorer was laid to rest Thursday at Pineview Memorial Gardens in Valley Grande. The funeral procession was nearly a mile long.

The procession started at the Selma Police Department and proceeded north on Broad Street to Pineview Memorial Gardens. Law enforcement and first responders from all over the state joined the procession.

Citizens paying their respects lined Broad Street and Highway 22. Most displayed the American flag, some the state flag. Selma’s Fire Department parked their ladder truck in the parking lot of Northside Baptist Church with the bucket extended over Citizen’s Parkway to display the American flag.
