The Pickens County Sheriff's Office honored several officers who lost their lives in the line of duty throughout the county. 

In a post on social media the department named three who died as they responded to emergency situations. 

Officer Earl Harcrow of the Reform Police Department was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic. 

Officer Brantley Moss of the Gordo Police Department died while responding to a house fire. 

Deputy Sheriff Bert Johnson of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office was killed in a shooting as he tried to arrest a kidnapping suspect. 

"Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten," said the post. "We also extend our sincere gratitude to all law enforcement officers who continue to serve and protect our communities each and every day."
