A project to upgrade the lampposts in downtown Marion has been completed, according to a recent announcement.

A series of LED lighting has been installed along the downtown corridor and are said to be energy-efficient and provides better visibility.

They are also said to reduce energy consumption and long-term maintenance costs.

"This vital infrastructure improvement, made possible through the continued partnership with Alabama Power, represents another step forward in our commitment to progress and sustainability for the City of Marion," said the city's social media page.
