The River Region Veterans Coalition (RRVC) will host a Candidate Forum in Montgomery for the 2026 General Election on July 27.
Attendees are invited to hear candidates running for public office speak on their platforms. Candidates will also take questions.
“The River Region Veterans Coalition is committed to strengthening our community by connecting citizens with the information they need to make informed decisions,” said Jason Hughes, Communications Director for RRVC. “This forum is about providing a space for open dialogue and ensuring that the voices of veterans and our community are heard.”
The free event will be held at 6 p.m. at Feast Buffet on 5831 Atlanta Highway in Montgomery.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for Central Alabama, which is in effect from
Saturday morning through Saturday evening.
* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 19 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of a dry air mass and windy
conditions will result in critical fire weather conditions.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
