Schools will return to session in the Dallas County district on Aug. 7. 

Dallas County Superintendent Anthony Sampson urged parents to make sure that their children are in regular attendance.  

"As we begin preparing for the 2023-2024 school year, thoughts of caps, gowns, and decorated classrooms only come to life with the presence of students," he said online.

"Everything is empty without students. To that end, we are requesting your child’s presence on Day 1 til the end. Everything starts with your child in school daily."
