The Links, Incorporated, Selma (AL) Chapter recently presented gifts to the dedicated physicians of Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
This act of gratitude aimed to honor the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of the hospital's active medical staff in serving the Blackbelt community, Links said in a statement.
The Selma (AL) Chapter, part of the internationally renowned nonprofit organization The Links, Incorporated, has been a pillar of service in the Selma area since its chartering in 1995. This year, the chapter marks an important milestone—its 30th anniversary. Over the past three decades, the chapter has made a significant impact, contributing over 30,000 hours of community service and awarding more than $100,000 in scholarships and community grants.
In celebration of this milestone anniversary, the chapter has launched its year long commemoration program, "30 for 30: Transforming Lives, One Step at a Time." This signature initiative reflects the Selma Chapter's dedication to making a meaningful difference by:
• Awarding 30 scholarships to deserving high school students,
• Performing 30 acts of kindness to uplift the community, and
• Completing 30 educational and service projects that address pressing needs in the Blackbelt region.
As part of this initiative, the chapter joined Vaughan Hospital in honoring the physicians whose contributions are vital to the health and well-being of the community.
"These physicians are the backbone of our local healthcare system, providing not just medical care but hope and healing to those in need," said Dr. Patricia Robinson, pediatrician of over 30 years and President of the Selma (AL) Chapter. "It is our privilege to honor them for their extraordinary service."
The presentation of gifts was a symbolic token of appreciation, reflecting the chapter’s unwavering commitment to strengthening communities through service, education, and outreach. As Selma's physicians continue their vital work, the Selma (AL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated stands proud in celebrating and supporting those who make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
