The Selma City Schools Child Nutrition Program was awarded $70,000 from the No Kid Hungry Campaign, a program by Share Our Strength.

Brian Hart Hoffman of Hoffman Media contributed to the grant with $5,000.

The funds will be used to provide meals to Selma students of ages 18 and under during the summer.

The funds will also be used to purchase vehicles and equipment to transport meals during school closures, as well as to begin the weekend backpack program for Selma students when the school year starts.
