Selma Housing Authority

The Selma Housing Authority (SHA) received a 93% Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) score from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In an announcement on Wednesday, SHA stated that the score was given based on the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) to families in Dallas, Wilcox and Clarke counties.

"This recognition affirms that our systems, people, and purpose are aligned," said Chief Operating Director Cecily N. Curtis. "We are not only meeting our expectations we are exceeding them, and we will continue to raise the standard of service for those we serve."

The announcement went on to state that SEMAP gauges performance of agencies like SHA in financial management, lease up rates, housing quality standards, and program integrity.

It added that the scores places SHA among the top agencies of the nation.

"This achievement is a direct reflection of the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our entire team," said SHA CEO Kennard Randolph. "We remain committed to providing safe, quality housing while expanding opportunities that empower families and strengthen our communities."
