The Selma Housing Authority has received a high-performance rating for how it operates its Section 8 housing voucher program.

The recognition from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development measures the performance of public housing agencies in key areas such as financial management, lease up rates, housing quality standards and program integrity, according to a news release from the SHA.

The score of 93% places the SHA among the top performing agencies nationwide, according to the release.

“This achievement is a direct reflection of the dedication, professionalism and hard work of our entire team,” SHA CEO Kennard Randolph said. “We remain committed to providing safe, quality housing while expanding opportunities that empower families and strengthen our communities.”

“This recognition affirms that our systems, people and purpose are aligned,” Chief Operating Officer Cicely N. Curtis said.

The SHA administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Dallas, Wilcox and Clarke counties.
