Selma Housing Authority (HUD) has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the amount of $2,300,000, with $840,000 in local matching funds.

"This funding will significantly enhance our efforts to connect residents of George Washington Carver and Felix Heights to valuable employment and education opportunities," said a post by SHA on social media. "These communities will greatly benefit from this initiative, as many households currently face challenging economic conditions."

The funding comes from the HUD's Jobs Plus program in which SHS is collaborating with the Selma Career Center and local partners for job training, placement services, and "supportive" resources.

"Our goal is to help families increase their earned income and improve their economic mobility," SHA adds.
