The Selma (AL) Chapter of The Links will host the 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast on Jan. 19 at the Selma Convention Center.
The keynote speaker for the 2026 event will be Dallas County District Court Judge Vernetta Perkins Walker with the theme "Three Decades, One Dream: Strengthening Our Community”.
The event will raise funds for scholarships and promote the Black K.A.R.E.(Kidney Awareness Resources and Education) initiative.
“Our breakfast is a beloved tradition, bringing our community together in friendship and service through fellowship," said Dr. Patricia Robinson, President of the Selma (AL) Chapter. As we commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King, our breakfast represents a 'day on', rather than a 'day off' acting as a mobilizing force for citizens everywhere."
For tickets, contact Unity Breakfast Chairperson, Dr. Willietta Conner at (334) 412-6031 or Dr. Patricia Robinson at selmalinks@gmail.com. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The event will be held at 9 a.m. at the center on 211 Washington Street.
