This year Selma can expect a traditional fair at a new date in the fall, according to the Selma Lion’s Club.
This year’s fair will be Nov. 1 through Nov. 5 at the Lion’s Fair Grounds on Dallas Avenue. Fair Board President Russell Haskell said the fair is going back to what it once was, with rides, live entertainment, vendors and exhibits.
“We’re looking forward to going back to our traditional fair this year with the exhibits and arts and crafts,” Haskell said. “We’ve got a lot of things in the works. We’re still hammering out who all will be our live entertainment, and we’re working out a few other details, but we’re really looking forward to November.”
Haskell said that the Lions Club “went through a couple of transition years with a couple of carnival companies, but we’ve nailed one down now.” He said the availability of the company, C&M Amusement out of Eastaboga, Ala. is the reason the date was set for early November.
