Selma Mayor Darrio Melton said Tuesday that the city is being advised by the Alabama Department of Public Health on best ways to avoid getting the COVID-19 virus.
The department says the best way to avoid infection is to wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, cover coughs and sneezes, stay home when you are ill and practice social distancing.
“All of us have a role to play in keeping our city safe and healthy,” he said in a statement.
For further information, the City of Selma recommends visiting the Alabama Department of Public Health’s website at http://www.alabamapublichealth.gov. Also visit www.cdc.gov/COVID19
Melton said the city will provided updates as more information is shared from health care officials.
