Selma police are investigating a deadly shooting on Tuesday, which is the 11th murder of the year.
Sharod Reid, 31, of Selma was killed in a shooting at GWC Homes Tuesday around 8 p.m., according to Selma Police.
Police Chief Kenta Fulford said officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim near GWC Homes and found Reid suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
The Selma Police Department’s CID Unit is handling the investigation. Fulford said detectives are actively following several leads and conducting interviews with witnesses. No arrests have been made.
“This is a tragic incident, and our department is fully committed to finding the person or persons responsible. We ask our community to remain vigilant and to share any information that may assist our investigators.”
