Eric Allison, a Selma resident, was chosen to be district deputy for the Central District of the Alabama Elks Association during a national conference this week. 

He will serve a one-year-term. This is his second time, having been chosen for the position in 2022 in the Benevolent and Protective Order (BPO) of Elks of the United States of America. 

BPO regularly engages in charity work. According to a press release they have contributed more than $370 million to the needy, including children, people with disabilities, veterans and active duty members of the military. 

BPO was founded in 1868.
