Alexander Shunnarah's "Teacher of the Month" initiative has selected a Selma teacher.Â
Veronica Pitts, who teaches history at Selma High School, had her image featured on a billboard and will be given a $500 American Express Card.Â
Pitts' image was featured on a billboard on Red Mountain Expressway.Â
"Veronica was nominated by fellow teachers, students, and parents for the incredible attention she has shown her students throughout this school year," said a message released to media.Â
