A portion of the Black Belt may be hit with severe weather between 3 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 a.m. on Thursday according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A graphic from NWS shows that communities from the east in Perry County to Barbour County are under an enhanced risk for weather.

Isolated tornadoes and strong, potentially damaging winds gusting at 60 mph are risks for today.

The public is advised to stay up to date with weather reports as they are made and take precautions as necessary.
