A portion of the Black Belt may be hit with severe weather between 3 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 a.m. on Thursday according to the National Weather Service (NWS).Â
A graphic from NWS shows that communities from the east in Perry County to Barbour County are under an enhanced risk for weather.
Isolated tornadoes and strong, potentially damaging winds gusting at 60 mph are risks for today.Â
The public is advised to stay up to date with weather reports as they are made and take precautions as necessary. Â

* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of a dry air mass and windy
conditions will result in critical fire weather conditions.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
