Alabama Power Vice President of Charitable Giving Staci Brown Brooks was honored by the Alabama Women’s Commission on Tuesday, April 8 by being named a 2025 Impact Honoree. The award is given at the Impact Luncheon, which honors women from around the state making an impact on their communities, state and nation.

Honorees are selected for their leadership and dedication to making a lasting impact, with their commitments to excellence and improving lives across the state, distinguishing them as trailblazers in Alabama.

"At this year's Alabama Women's Commission Impact Luncheon, we were honored to celebrate women's leadership statewide through our theme ‘Rise and Thrive: Celebrating Women's Leadership’. As a highlight of our event, we were grateful to hear from this year's honorees, which included Staci Brown Brooks, Jay Lamar, and Chief Justice Sarah Stewart,” said Emily Herring, chair of the Impact Luncheon. “We recognize the incredible leadership of women in businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, government entities, and organizations throughout Alabama. We believe the future of Alabama is bright with women leading.”

A native of Selma, Ala., Brooks joined Alabama Power in 2015 and held positions of increasing responsibility in communications and marketing prior to her current role. Prior to joining Alabama Power, Brooks held senior leadership positions at Alabama Media Group, where she developed strategies that grew digital audiences. She also worked at The Birmingham News, The Tuscaloosa News and the Detroit Free Press.

Brooks is a two-time graduate of The University of Alabama, where she earned a B.A. in communication and an MBA. The university recognized her as a “60 for 60” esteemed alumna at a “Beyond the Schoolhouse Door” commemoration. Additional honors include selection for Who’s Who in Nonprofits, as well as selection for the Maynard Media Academy and the Young American Leaders Program, both at Harvard University.

Along with her position as vice president of Charitable Giving at Alabama Power, Brooks also serves as president of the Alabama Power Foundation and the executive director of the Alabama Business Charitable (ABC) Trust, which was established by the company to help meet the energy needs of low-income Alabamians.

Other 2025 Impact Honorees included Chief Justice Sarah Stewart of the Alabama Supreme Court and Jay Lamar, a distinguished writer and editor.

“I really appreciate the Alabama Women’s Commission for selecting me to be in the company of its outstanding honorees this year,” Brooks said. “Most of my working life has centered on advancing Alabama communities, whether through journalism, my nonprofit board service or my current role. I’m grateful to be recognized as someone who contributes positively in the state that I love.
