A suspect who was wanted for failure to appear on a murder charge has been captured in Montgomery after a manhunt by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) and county authorities.

According to CrimeStoppers, police conducted an "in-depth" investigation where family members of the suspect, Marcus Andre Johnson, were interviewed but attempts to find him failed.

However, an anonymous tip led to the arrest of Johnson on July 24. He was captured in the 1000 Block of Highland Avenue in Montgomery by GCRFTF with assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

"U.S. Marshalls say the CrimeStoppers 215STOP tip significantly reduced both the time and resources needed to locate and apprehend Johnson," said a post on social media by CrimeStoppers. "Authorities credit the success of this arrest to the vital role citizens play in keeping the community safe."
