A teenager has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in a shooting that injured two children in Camden.

According to WSFA, a man was dropping off two children ages 9 and 10 at a home on Union Grove Road in Camden when the suspect opened fire while standing in the yard.

Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office arrested Calvin Higginbottom, 17, Thursday night and charged him with shooting into an occupied vehicle and three counts of attempted murder.

The man was not injured but both children were shot and taken to an area hospital, then later airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham, Sheriff Larry Colston said. Their condition is currently unknown.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.
