food pantry

The Trojan Pantry at Troy University (TU) has received a $2,000 donation from the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

An announcement from the university said that 30% of college students in the nation are food insecure and TU is no exception. The donation is part of an initiative by the Office of Civic Engagement.

“We have seen the incredible generosity of the Trojan family this past year,” said Lauren Cochran, Coordinator of Civic Engagement. “Individuals who are passionate about supporting student success have donated financially, through physical donations and through volunteer service."

"The Trojan Pantry is truly a grassroots effort on behalf of faculty, staff and students and relies on donations to keep it running. Community partnerships with local businesses like Publix and Starbucks are also critical to its success.”

The announcement stated that the pantry had almost 1,800 visits during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Trojan p]Pantry is open to all TU students and provides non-perishable food, hygiene products and supplies. It is located in Trojan Village 200.
