West Alabama Tiger Wranglers

Students of the University of West Alabama's (UWA) Tiger Wranglers won national titles at the 2023 College National Finals Rodeo held on Saturday in Wyoming. 

According to an article on the UWA Athletics site, Taycie Matthews, JT Ellison, and Raven Clagg took home titles in the categories of barrel racing and steer wrestling.

"This is exciting time for our team, school and town," said UWA head coach Daniel Poole. "These ladies worked so unbelievably hard to get to this point.

The Wranglers scored an overall of 698.3 points, making them the champions.
