Whitfield Foundation raised $29,000 at their 2026 Soiree at Demopolis Civic Center on Saturday, beating last year's amount.

The Soiree that featured the NY NY Dueling Pianos raised funds for a new MRI machine at Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis.

The foundation said the funds raised are "a true testament to our community’s spirit" and added the radiology team "is thrilled and ready to put these funds to work by acquiring state-of-the-art software supporting our new MRI, enhancing patient care."

Last year’s Soiree raised $22,000 that also went toward the new MRI machine at Whitfield Regional Hospital.

“The Whitfield Foundation supports Whitfield Regional Hospital’s efforts in providing access to needed services for the region,” the Foundation said in a statement. “The Whitfield Foundation is dedicated to improving healthcare services for the residents of the Blackbelt. Our goal is to provide modern technology, facility enhancements, capital improvement, and patient resources for the hospital.”

Whitfield announced earlier this month that it raised $750,000 in donations as part of the state’s new Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program from individuals, industries and businesses to support needs and better serve their market.
