Wilcox and Perry counties have received Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) disaster recovery funds to improve drainage, said a recent announcement from Sen. Robert Stewart.

Wilcox County received $2.1 million for improvements on County Road 31. 1,095 residents will improve, with 65% of beneficiaries being low to moderate income, Stewart's announcement reported.

Perry County was granted $1.05 million for County Road 53. It will "directly" benefit 785 residents. 90% of the impacted are low and moderate income families.

"We are continuing to deliver critical infrastructure investments to the Black Belt," Stewart said.
