The AISA Class AA Region 2 Wilcox Academy Wildcats took down regional opponent the Monroe Academy Volunteers 13-3 on the road Friday night.
With the win, the Wildcats improved to 5-2, 3-1 and Monroe fell to 6-2, 2-2.
For the Wildcats, Julian Curry rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. J.J. Sessions kicked an extra point.
Steele Swanner led the defense for the Wildcats with 14 tackles followed by Lee Hollinger and Jim Vick with 10 and eight tackles, respectively.
Gabe Stockman had a huge fumble recovery to seal the game.
Wilcox Academy head football coach Lebo Jones said, “Proud of our boys, coaching staff, cheerleaders, fans, community and everyone involved in our program. It was a great night to be a Wildcat.”
Wilcox Academy will host non-regional opponent Lowndes Academy on Oct. 16.
