The AISA Class AA Region 2 Wilcox Wildcats crushed non-regional opponent Clarke Prep 47-0 for homecoming.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 4-2 overall and remained 2-1 in regional play. 

For the Wildcats, Julian Curry rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown. He also had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown. Harrison Travis returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown and added a 4-yard pick six for a touchdown.

Also, for the Wildcats, Marvin Moultry had a 1-yard touchdown run. Steele Swanner had a 65-yard touchdown run. Tait Crabtree had a 25-yard pick six. J.J. Sessions kicked three extra points, and Julian Curry added a 2-point conversion to round out the scoring. 

More for Wilcox Academy, Jim Vick had 12 tackles, and Steele Swanner had 10 tackles to lead the defense.

“The defense and special teams played great! It was a good homecoming victory. Proud of the boys,” said Wilcox Academy head football coach Lebo Jones.

The Wildcats will face regional opponent the 6-1, 2-1 Monroe Academy Volunteers on the road Oct. 10.
