William Scott Russell

William Russell, at 50 years of age, of Phenix City, Al, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2024. William was born in Landstuhl, Germany to William Martin Russell and the late Jan Elsina Tate Russell. He married the love of his life, Cynthia Ann Glenn on March 19, 1999, and remained her faithful and dedicated husband for 25 years. Next to his faith, his family was very important to him. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was always willing to help, whether it be a church member, family, or a stranger on the side of the road. Scott taught his son how to be a man and his daughter what to look for in a man. He loved to fix things, build, or just tinker with projects. Scott will be remembered as a laid-back man who loved God, his family, and football, whether it was the LSU Tigers or New Orleans Saints. He will be deeply missed, but we rejoice that we will see him in heaven one day.

William Scott Russell is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Elsina Tate Russell; and grandparents, William and Edith Russell and Louie and Evelyn Tate.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Russell of Phenix City, Al; father, William Martin Russell of Berwick, La; children, William “Cody” Russell of Fort Cavasos and Bethany Anne Russell of Phenix City, Al; brother, Jonathan David Russell of Berwick, La; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Al 36867, on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm EST, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm EST officiated by Bro. David Johnson. Services will conclude with a committal service at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Al.
