Talladega National Forest was voted as the "top hidden gem" in Alabama to see fall foliage, according to a survey by Mixbook.
The national survey asked 3,000 respondents what would be the best places to see autumn colors, with Sipsey Wilderness and Little River Canyon National Preserve being named in addition to Talladega.
The forest was noted for being less busy than other destinations, as well as for the diversity of the landscape and its "lesser-traveled trails." In the list of top spots it was voted #45 nationally.
"We hope these stunning, hidden gems across the U.S. inspire people to pack their bags and experience some incredible fall destinations firsthand,” commented Leslie Albertson, Director of Brand at Mixbook.
