Rita Carmichael’s journey of service began long before she entered the classrooms of Gospel Tabernacle COGIC and Meadowview Elementary School. Her path to becoming a licensed teacher was paved with countless hours of selfless volunteer work. Before stepping into her role as a summer STEM & Fitness camp teacher and a 6th Grade Elementary School teacher, Rita served with the Catholic diocese. There, she played a crucial role in providing guidance and training for students who struggled to complete high school. Rita’s work extended beyond traditional teaching; she became a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration for these students, helping many attain their GEDs and guiding them towards a brighter, more hopeful future.

At Gospel Tabernacle COGIC, Rita’s impact is felt through her instruction at the summer STEM & Fitness camp, where she inspires young minds to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while encouraging physical wellness.
