Black Belt teams moved around a little in the Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings after the first week of games in the 2025 season.
The ranking is based on first-place votes, win-loss record and total poll points.
In 3A, Southside High fell a spot to ninth even after a 44-0 win against Selma High. Montgomery Academy moved up to eighth.
In 2A, Clarke County fell out of the top 10.
For 1A, Sweet Water in Marengo County fell to seventh.
And in AISA, Lowndes Academy kept its first place ranking, Patrician stayed at third, South Choctaw Academy ranks fourth and Fort Dale took the fifth spot from Wilcox Academy after beating the Wildcats 17-16.
