Cleanup crews hired to pick up debris around Selma from Hurricane Zeta started the staging process Sunday afternoon at the Selma Mall parking lot.

Pickup will begin Monday morning with several properties already identified, Mayor James Perkins said in a live video he posted on Facebook.

Perkins said the monitoring company hired will be hiring 30 locals to assist with efforts on a temporary part-time basis. The work hours will be 12 hours a day during the timeframe of the cleanup process.
