Demopolis City Schools Board of Education added a new member on Monday and recognized students who got perfect scores on the ACAP test.

Lee Jordan was sworn in as the fifth board member for Demopolis City Schools at the meeting on Monday by the Honorable Judge Vince Dees. 

Lee is a Demopolis native and graduate of Demopolis High School. He is married to Jennifer Jordan with two daughters, Sara and Mary both graduates of DHS. Jordan is senior application support manager with ICON Clinical. He replaces Harris Hurst, who resigned before his term expired. Jordan was unanimously approved to the school board position by the Demopolis City Council on Oct. 16.

The board recognized students who scored a perfect score on the ACAP Summative Test. They are Shakeidra Oden, fourth grade, both ELA and Math with teacher Mrs. Lee; Helen Reynolds - fourth grade Math with teacher Mrs. Moseley; Paisley Lawrence – fifth grade - Math with Mrs. Sims; Ellyson Wilkinson, fifth grade - Math with Mrs. Thorne; Esther Lopez – fifth grade - Math with Mrs. Thorne; Lane Powell – seventh grade - Math with Mrs. Patterson; and Yamilet Galvan – ninth grade - Math with Mrs. Amanda Smith.
