Demopolis City Schools Superintendent Tony Willis has resigned to take the top job of Calhoun County schools.

According to The Anniston Star, the Calhoun County Board of Education hired Willis, 53, in a vote Tuesday morning.

Willis starts the job immediately. Willis has a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama and is pursuing a doctorate degree in Leadership Studies from Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va., the Star reports.

He started his career in 1996 as a teacher and has coaching experience in Florence as well as administrative jobs at Limestone County Schools, Sheffield City Schools, and served as an evaluator in Decatur City Schools.
