Geek Squad Academy

Geek Squad Academy held a tech camp at the Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Wallace Community College Selma.

The Geek Squad Academy hosted a technology camp on Wednesday at the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, located on Wallace Community College campus in Selma.

This minicamp is designed to get more kids involved with technology. Students had the opportunity to learn about things that focused on Digital Music creation, Game Design and more.

Participants ranged from 10-18 years old. The digital music course allowed students to learn the basics of music production and how to combine different instruments and vocals into a cohesive song. In the GoDot Game Design course, students got the first look at making computer games in the opensource game engine GoDot. They learned to both create their own game and code it.

The Teen Tech Center summer hours are from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Fridays. There will be an Open House and School Supply Giveaway held on Aug. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Teen Tech Center.
