Students across Dallas County can explore their future with the University of Alabama at the upcoming “Bama in Selma” college fair scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Organized by UA’s Culverhouse College of Business, the event will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Wallace Community College gym to introduce ninth through 12th graders from all six area high schools, public, private, and home schooled, as well as current Wallace Community College students, to the academic pathways available at the university.

Representatives from multiple UA colleges, including Arts and Sciences, Business, and Human Environmental Sciences, will be on hand to discuss programs ranging from psychology and medicine to interior design.

This is really about helping students figure out if UA is the right next step,” said Preston McGee, one of the event organizers. “Even if it’s not, we want them to leave with clarity and connections.”

The evening kicks off with a casual mixer at 5:30 p.m., followed by formal remarks from UA officials at 6 p.m. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., attendees can visit information tables, speak directly with college representatives.Dinner is provided. Families and siblings are encouraged to attend.

“Just come ready to talk and meet people,” McGee said. “Bring your questions thisis the time to get them answered.”

The fair coincides with Free Application Week, when college applications are free. For more information, contact McGee at (334) 518-0559.
