The Wilcox Central High School’s Class of 1999 celebrated their 25th class reunion in Camden last weekend with festivities and a scholarship fundraiser for future students.

The reunion was the most attended reunion over the years and kicked off the weekend on June 14 with a “Welcome Back! Meet & Greet Mixer” at Boon Docks Billiard & Lounge located in Camden, which is also co-owned by one of their classmates Kimberley Murphy.

On June 15, they welcomed more classmates and their families at the “Family Fun Day” held at Bessie Munden Park, which was also open to the public. They enjoyed great music, food from F&T Catering and vendors. They provided a water slide, raffles and other fun games.

Saturday evening, they hosted the “We’re Still Kickin’ It Sneaker Ball” at the Gee’s Bend Ferry Terminal with a dinner catered by Geraldine Moore. The DJ for the evening was Eric Irby, another classmate. Fredtography & his Interactive Photo Booth was a huge hit, as well as Comedian Jay R Brown from Montgomery giving them lots of laughter all evening.

The weekend’s festivities rounded out with the “Class of ‘99 Derby Style Farewell Brunch & Devotional Service” which was also held at the Gee’s Bend Ferry Terminal on June 16. The ladies dawned Fascinators and the gents wore suits and ties, as they enjoyed brunch and mimosas catered by F&T Catering, and a spiritual message by fellow classmate Rev. Tanna Pettway. Proceeds from these events benefit a scholarship for a WCHS student.
