Voting SIgn

No Republicans qualified for county races in Dallas County, according to Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn.

The primary election will be held on May 19 with a runoff scheduled for June 16. The general election is Nov. 3.

With no Republicans on the ballot for Dallas County races, Democratic Party candidates are unchallenged for tax collector, tax assessor, coroner and a seat on the Dallas County board of education. That means the winners will be selected in the primary or the runoff.

Two Democrats are running for Dallas County sheriff. Incumbent Sheriff Mike Granthum announced last month that he would not run for reelection.

According to Collins Pettaway III, chairman of the Dallas County Democratic Party, these are the candidates for Dallas County offices:

Tanika Wagner Neely, Tax Collector.

Carroll Bonner, Tax Assessor.

Coach Leroy Miles, Dallas County Board of Education, District 5.

Alan Daily, Coroner.

Willie Calhoun Jr. and Dewayne Sanders, Sheriff.

The primary election will also determine seats on the Dallas County Democratic Executive Committee. Those candidates are:
