Season 24 of American Idol premiered back in January, and it’s been quite a journey in the months since. Now, there are just three artists left in the competition, and they’ll all be singing for a chance to win the show during the upcoming finale.
The final episode of the season is all about the finalists’ performances and crowning a winner, but the night is also filled with performances, celebrity guests, and more. During the May 4 Semifinals episode, all the details about the finale were revealed.

When is the American Idol 2026 finale?
The American Idol finale is on Monday, May 11. The episode will feature the Top 3 contestants performing, and whoever gets the most viewer votes will win the show.
What time is the American Idol 2026 finale?
The American Idol finale begins at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. It will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
While most episodes of American Idol are two hours long, the finale will be a three-hour event, so it won’t end until 11/10c.
Who is performing at the American Idol 2026 finale?
In addition to the Top 3’s performances, Alicia Keys will be hitting the stage to perform in honor of the 25th anniversary of her debut album, Songs in A Minor. She’ll also be serving as a guest mentor and will sing an additional song with the Top 3.
The other artists who will be performing during the finale are: Brad Paisley, Blues Traveler, Cameron Whitcomb, Clay Aiken, En Vogue, Gin Blossoms, Jason Mraz, Lee Ann Womack, Mötley Crüe, Nelly, Shinedown and Tori Kelly.
Plus, finalists from the season are expected to return to hit the stage. The official logline for the episode says: “The Top 3 finalists give their all for the last chance to earn America’s vote. Alicia Keys serves as guest mentor and performer, plus special performances from other music legends and today’s top stars.
