The “chateau family” is growing as Daphne and Ian Fig have announced they’re expecting their first baby together.

The Castle Impossible stars will confirm the happy news on Tuesday’s (June 2) episode, as first revealed in an exclusive clip by People. In the video, the couple is joined by Daphne’s grandmother and Anthony Raggett, a craftsman who is helping them renovate the 17th-century French chateau that Daphne inherited from her maternal grandparents.

“So Granny and Tony, we have another small surprise for you,” Daphne says, directing her grandmother to look under her plate. Daphne’s grandmother then pulls out a white envelope and reads the letter inside, which says, “Surprise, you’re going to be a super Granny to our little baby.” An ultrasound photo of the baby is attached to the letter.

“You two are having a baby?” asks a shocked Raggett.

“We’re having a baby!” Daphne replies.

“It’s going to be great with the baby,” Daphne’s grandmother adds. “I’m glad that I’ll get to rock this little boy — or this little girl.”

Former high school sweethearts Daphne and Ian reconnected in 2015 and began dating long-distance. As they were planning to move in together, Daphne found out her grandfather was in poor health; he passed away in November 2020 and left behind a 500-year-old French chateau. Daphne and Ian have spent the past few years restoring the castle, which they’ve documented on social media and on their HGTV series.

“I absolutely love that our little chateau family is growing,” Daphne says in the upcoming episode. “It’ll be really nice having the three generations living together.”

She continues, “I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I think I was around two and a half when I started pushing around my first doll and saying that I was gonna be a mother of 10. I’m not gonna have 10 kids, but to finally have a baby of my own, that’s really exciting.”

You can watch the announcement in full during tonight’s episode, which airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
