Jaden Christopher Maxwell was one of four inmates who escaped Perry County Correctional Facility.

A second escaped inmate from the Perry County Correctional Facility has been captured.

Jayden Maxwell surrendered late Sunday night to Dallas County Sheriff's Office in a meet up at Bloch Park.

Sheriff Mike Granthum said Maxwell contacted the sheriff’s office around 10 or 10:30 p.m. and arranged to turn himself in. He had remained in Dallas County after escaping.

“The pressure was on him," Granthum told the Black Belt News Network. "We were getting closer and closer to him, so I am sure he felt the pressure and said, ‘I am not risking getting my family hurt, me hurt, or what have you.’”

The first escapee, Johnny Dave Harris Bush Jr., was captured and arrested by Midfield police in the metro Birmingham community at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The department was alerted by the Flock camera system that Bush's stolen vehicle had been detected in the 600 block of Bessemer Super Highway, and police pulled him over and made the arrest.

Bush will be charged with first degree escape from the Perry County Correctional Facility will face additional charges in Dallas County and Jefferson County, District Attorney Robert Turner Jr. said.

Two more escapees remain at large, Marquavius Billingsley and Kevin Gunn.

Granthum urged residents not to attempt to capture the remaining escapees, saying they could be armed. He instead says to call Crime Stoppers, which is offering a reward for information leading to their capture, at 215-STOP.

Granthum said updates will be released as soon as new information becomes available.
