Did another Jeopardy! champion qualify for the Tournament of Champions this season, or did their reign come to an end? Chris D’Angelo went for win number five. Find out how he did.

D’Angelo, from Washington, D.C., had a four-day total of $83,600. For his fifth game on May 26, the content manager played against Rebecca Joseph, from Denver, Colorado, and Chenfei Lu, from San Francisco, California. Warning: Spoilers for the May 26 episode of Jeopardy! ahead!

The beginning of the game had D’Angelo and Lu, a data scientist, going back and forth for the lead. However, by the first 15 clues, D’Angelo had the lead with $3,600, compared to Lu’s $3,000.

On clue 20, D’Angelo found the Daily Double. He had a narrow lead of $4,600 and wagered all of his money.

In “Archaeology,” the clue read, “In 2025, 22 massive stone blocks were recovered from the Mediterranean seabed off Egypt, remnants of this ancient wonder.” “What is the Lighthouse of Alexandria?” he answered. That was correct, so he doubled to $9,200, compared to Lu’s $4,000.

By the end of the round, he had $10,800. Lu was in second place with $4,800. Joseph, a senior cost accountant, had $400.

In Double Jeopardy, Joseph found the first DD on clue seven. She had $2,000 and wagered $1,000. In “2-Word Magazine Titles,” the clue was “It now publishes a large-print edition to go along with its familiar 5.5-inch by 7.5-inch version.”

“What is TV Guide?” she answered incorrectly. The correct response was Reader’s Digest, so she dropped down to $1,000.

Lu then found the last DD on clue 11. He was in second place with $7,600 and wagered $2,500.

The clue in “Overseas Territories” was “This island found by the Royal Navy in 1767 is still British territory, so mutineers, think twice about heading there.”

“What is Bermuda?” he answered. The correct response was Pitcairn Island, so Lu dropped to $5,100.

By the end of the round, D’Angelo had a huge lead of $19,200. Lu was in second place with $5,100. Joseph had $2,200. The Daily Doubles really affected the outcome of the game.

“Famous Lines From Literature” was the category for Final Jeopardy. The clue read, “Both the first line & the last line of this 1859 novel begin with ‘It.'”

Two contestants had the correct response. Joseph wrote, “What is A Tale of Two Cities?” She was right and wagered $2,100, giving her $4,300.

Lu also had the correct response. He wagered $67, ending him with $5,167. D’Angelo responded with “What is Uncle Tom’s Cabin?” He wagered $5,800, giving him a final total of $13,400.

D’Angelo had a five-day total of $97,000. The game show contestant will also compete in an upcoming Tournament of Champions due to his five wins. Find out if he wins his sixth game on Wednesday.
