Scrubs will officially return for another season on ABC after the network renewed the revival for a second season, and fans are going to return to Sacred Heart Hospital a lot sooner than they may have thought, as the show sets a fall premiere.

The show’s eleventh overall season will be in good company as it airs alongside Abbott Elementary. In addition to knowing Scrubs‘ fall premiere window, ABC has revealed additional details. Below, we’re rounding up everything we know about the show’s return so far, including who is most likely to return and where the story could take viewers next. Scroll down for all of the need-to-know details, and stay tuned for updates as we look ahead to Season 2.

Has the Scrubs revival been renewed for Season 2?

ABC’s Scrubs revival has officially been renewed for a second season. The news doesn’t come as a major shock after the revival’s ratings success. As previously reported by ABC, the revival premiere garnered a total cross-platform audience of 11.36 million, based on viewing and linear encores through five days on the network, as well as Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and digital platforms.

The show’s debut was ABC’s best comedy episode and top series debut overall on streaming in over a year, since Shifting Gears debuted in January 2025. Over three days on linear, Scrubs was the top comedy telecast among adults in the 18-49 demo with a 0.74 rating. In other words, it confirmed that the Scrubs revival’s future was bright before the renewal was even announced.

When will Season 2 of the Scrubs revival premiere?

While there’s no exact premiere date for the second season of ABC’s Scrubs revival, the network did reveal that the comedy will be part of the fall premiere lineup. Fans will be able to tune in on Wednesdays at 8/7c to catch new episodes this fall. Stay tuned for the exact date.

Who would star in Season 2 of the Scrubs revival?

When it comes to the Scrubs revival’s ensemble, we’d expect most of the faces we’ve come to know back on our screens in Season 2, including Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Vanessa Bayer, David Gridley, Ava Bunn, Jacob Dudman, Amanda Morrow, and Layla Mohammadi, among others.

What would Season 2 of the Scrubs revival be about?

We’d expect Scrubs to continue exploring the workplace dynamics at Sacred Heart Hospital, whether it’s between the vets of the series or the interns; laughs and heartwarming moments are sure to be included. And as teased at the end of the revival’s first season, Dr. Cox (McGinley) had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, leaving us to wonder where his health journey will lead us in Season 2. Stay tuned for an official logline, though.
