This year's severe weather preparedness sales tax holiday will begin on Friday, Feb. 23 at 12:01 a.m. and will end on Sunday, Feb. 25 at midnight.

During this time items related to severe weather preparedness that are under $60 can be purchased free of the state sales tax. Generators that cost $1,000 or less can be bought without the 4% sales tax.

Items include batteries, certain types of radios, first aid kits, smoke detectors and others. Noneligible items are coin batteries and automobile and boat batteries.

See here for a list of products that are eligible.
