The theme this year is "Strengthening Ourselves, Strengthening Our Movement, and Strengthening our democracy. Addressing & Remedying the Root Causes of Youth Violence".Â
There will be a lineup of speakers to discuss different topics. These are:Â

Professor Kindaka Sanders will guide participants through mock trial scenarios, Faya Rose Toure will speak on music and creative expression; Senator Hank Sanders on grassroots and political organizing; and Eddie Basden, former NBA Player for the Chicago Bulls, to lead sessions on sports and self discipline.
There will also be sessions on music, dance, poetry and others, as well as workshops, activities and discussions.Â
"Parents, guardians, and community members are encouraged to support the camp by contributing, donating, or serving as sponsors," said a press release for the event. "Their involvement will help make this experience even more impactful for the next generation of leaders. Join us in empowering the leaders of tomorrow at the 39th Annual Youth Leadership Camp at Selma University."
The camp is $150 per participant. For more information, contact Olimatta Taal at support@selmajubilee.com, 334-526-2626.
