ATRC Aging in Camden is helping seniors in need with its 6th Annual Santa for Seniors through Nov. 15.Â
Anyone who wants to help by "adopting" seniors may visit www.atrcaging.com and sponsor a senior in the 10-county service area. Help can be provided by vising this link and seeing a list of seniors with non-identifying information.
Monetary donations can be made through PayPal.Â
ATRC staff have chosen the neediest seniors in the area as Santa for Seniors recipients, according to ATRC Aging Director Delia Brand. Many are low-income, homebound and alone. Most of the requests are for everyday items such as cleaning supplies, bed linens, adult diapers and other basic necessities.
“While children are the beneficiaries of many holiday programs, people often don't think about the isolated and lonely seniors who need to be remembered as well during this season," ATRC Aging Director Delia Brand said. "We hope you’ll help bring a smile to a needy senior this Christmas season."
ATRC Aging serves Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Sumter, Washington and Wilcox counties.
