Venison chili

A ‘secret’ ingredient kicks David Rainer’s venison chili recipe up a notch. (contributed) 

The Alabama River Chili Cook-Off presented by Reliable Chevrolet GMC and Blackbelt Benefit Group in Selma is set for Nov. 7. 

Churches, fraternities, scouts, businesses, sororities, industries, non-profits, civic groups and restaurants may gather teams to take part in the event to raise funds for the continuing tornado relief efforts in Selma.

Awards will go to the best tasting chili, the Spirit Award for best decorations and the People's Choice Award for fan favorite.
