Valley Creek greenspace

The Blackbelt Benefit Group (BBG) has adopted greenspace in Valley Creek in Selma to be used for new off-road walking, running, and bicycle trails.

The project is a partnership with the Selma Parks and Recreation Department.

"Enjoy newly mulched open forest between Valley Creek Park’s covered bridge through Bloch Park to the Dallas Avenue bridge with easy access to Valley Creek," said a recent announcement from BBG. "When you cross the covered bridge into Riverside Park, turn right and enjoy a 1+ mile loop to the Alabama River at the mouth of Valley Creek where there’s a sandbar."

The announcement added that a fundraising event is planned for June 27 with Valley Creek Fun Run Walk & Ride.
