Bankers who live in or studied in the Black Belt were among others to be honored as "Rising Stars of Bankers" during a luncheon held in Birmingham. 

A story by Business Alabama said that this group is made up of professionals with "decades" of experience, rising from tellers to managing positions. 

See below for a list of bankers from the Black Belt who were included: 

Tia Blake, First Citizens Bank in Luverne

Alisa Sinkfield, River Bank & Trust in Montgomery

Josh Haisten, MidSouth Bank - Haisten is a graduate of Troy University

Kerri DeShazo, Synovus Bank - She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Troy University.

Hunter Singleton, PeoplesSouth Bank - Singleton studied at Wallace State Community College and Troy University.
